Many people have some information about their family that has been passed down through parents, grandparents or other family members. That information will come in handy for me to make sure that I am finding the right family! When doing family research, it really helps to define the scope of your search. Do you want to find a whole branch of your family, records for a single person or other documents related to your family?
Step 1: Tell me who/what you would like to find.
Step 2: I will ask you some questions about your family to help me get started
Step 3: I will do an assesment to get a sense of what kind of information is available about your family. Depending on the time period and location in question, certain records may or may not be readily available. Sometimes, records have been damaged, destroyed or lost, so I cannot guarantee results.
Step 4: Once I finish my assessment, we can determine the direction of my research and set goals and the scope for the project.
Step 5: I do my research and find your family!
Let Sarah find your family, you'll be amazed at what/who she will find!
